London Design Week Launch & 100% Design

London Design festival was launched with a speech by Gordon Brown.

People we met included John Sorrel, William Russell, Peter York and
of course, Gordon Brown.

Thursday 22 September 2005
100% opened its doors on Thursday morning, there seemed to be a
real buzz around the place.

Blueprint Editor, Vicky Richardson chaired a debate on the Interior design profession.

Other shows that were going on during London design week include:
Design Mart, Design UK, Eureka and Import Export

RED Editor, Johnny Tucker chaired the discussion about the new terminal 5 at Heathrow.

Discussions worth noting include RIBA's High Energy buildings' set of seminars.

People we met included Alan Yentob, Sir Terence Conran, Tom Lloyd, Alice Rawsthorn, Mike Davies and Simon Pengelly.

Seminars worth seeing include a look at offsite, offsite and affordable housing and what the housing industry can learn from the car manufacturing industry.

We met the first gym manufacturer to have presence at 100% with Technogym

People we met include Matthew Hilton, Nicky Clarke, Tom Dixon and Jools Holland

We went all materialistic on Saturday with a look at new materials and how architects are using them.

There were plenty of events going on over the weekend including ReDesign 05 and Ceramics in the city.

Showrooms opening their doors included The Conran Shop, Coexistence annd Hidden Art.

Public day and it was their opportunity to decide what makes a good
building.
